Yoga is an old healing system which has been practiced since 5000 years ago and has origins in India. It is a mind and body practice which involves breathing exercise, meditation, and physical postures. I personally love to follow practice of yoga regularly due to the benefits it offers to stay fresh and healthy. Morning yoga session in the garden, for half an hour daily, is truly a luxurious time of the day for me. Don’t agree? Let’s take a look at the health benefits of yoga which will make you fanatic, just like me!

Health benefits of yoga which makes it effective natural remedy:
  • Certain vigorous yoga poses such as power yoga and ashtanga helps improve muscle tone and are strengthening. Though yoga practice such as hatha yoga includes less movement, it provides benefits of strength and endurance. Poses such as upward dog, downward dog, and plank nose help elderly to build upper body strength.
  • Exercising yoga safely stretches muscles and also increases motion in joints which makes our body flexible. You will see the results just within eight weeks because one study suggests 35% improvement in flexibility for all participants.
  • Improved strength and flexibility leads to better posture. You will also observe increased body awareness with many of the yoga practices. A strong, lean, and confident body is the outcome of yoga movements.
  • Deep and long breathing gives you the feeling of relaxation and improves the lung capacity. Deep breaths keep your mind focused, calm, and sharp.
  • Yoga brings back our neurological system into balance and directs us naturally toward a healthy lifestyle. It has biochemical responses which reduce the levels of stress causing hormones such as catecholamines.
  • Our intuition or perception is buried when mind and body is under tension. Yoga releases a tension and calms our mind which leads to improved intuition that guides us in our life.
Along with these physical and mental benefits, yoga also aids in many diseases including high blood pressure, increased cholesterol, heart disease, asthma, arthritis, back pain, insomnia and more. All these benefits make yoga an effective alternative and natural remedy. So, are you ready to practice yoga?
